KELVIN A
Synopsis
In this dark and psychological crime thriller, we follow three people in parallel whose fates will be intertwined through a bloody, protracted rebellion against guilt and punishment.
When former bank director Sven Holmkvist is found brutally murdered in his summer cottage – the body arranged in a symbolic position with two silver coins over the eyes and red fluid in the lungs – former criminal investigator Lina Klev is called in to consult on the case. Her expertise in ritual murders and symbolism becomes even more vital when a second body, Petra Lundström, is discovered arranged at the bottom of a school swimming pool dressed in a white baptismal gown.
Both victims had connections to the infamous Framtidsspar scandal – a massive financial scheme where thousands of savers lost their life savings. While the police, led by Commissioner Eva Holm and investigator Karim Dahir, hunt for answers, a methodical and ritually fixated killer – Anders – operates in the shadows. He moves with ice-cold precision, carrying what appears to be both personal pain and an uncompromising moral mission.
But Lina, with her own dark secrets and an ambiguous connection to the case, works on the fringes of the official investigation. She bears scars, both physical and psychological, that conceal a traumatic experience in the past – represented by the thin red tattoos on her wrists. Meanwhile, former journalist Niklas Bergman monitors the investigation from a distance, documenting on his wall of connections and conspiracy theories, driven by a personal loss tied to the Framtidsspar scandal.
As Anders prepares his third victim, Lina begins communicating with both him and Niklas on an anonymous forum under the pseudonym "Kelvin A". A dangerous game develops where hunter and hunted switch roles, and the question of who is truly dispensing justice becomes increasingly blurred.
As the investigation progresses, Lina will be forced to confront both inner and outer demons as she hunts a killer whose motives may be closer to her own than she wants to admit. Meanwhile, all parties prepare for the next symbolic execution – scheduled for exactly 7:45 PM.
"Kelvin A" is a penetrating study of trauma, justice, and the question of who really has the right to demand vengeance for abuses that the system has chosen to ignore.
